Base Salary
$190k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Shape applied AI and intelligence features for Databricks products and drive development and deployment of state-of-the-art AI models and systems.
- Develop data collection, fine-tuning, and LLM technologies for task- and domain-specific performance.
- Design and implement ML pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, hyperparameter tuning, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with AI researchers, ML engineers, and product teams to deliver AI solutions that improve user productivity.
- Build scalable, reusable backend systems and robust logging, telemetry, and evaluation harnesses for GenAI products.
Requirements
- 2–8 years of machine learning engineering experience, or equivalent relevant machine learning research experience in academia.
- Strong experience with language-modeling technologies, including generative and embedding techniques, modern model architectures, fine-tuning or pre-training datasets, and evaluation benchmarks.
- Proficiency in Python and TensorFlow or PyTorch, plus scalable ML architectures.
- Ability to drive end-to-end model development from research and prototyping through deployment and monitoring.
- Strong coding and software engineering skills, including familiarity with testing, code reviews, and deployment principles.
- Experience with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation is a bonus.
