Base Salary
$115k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development and begin architecting scalable, elastic distributed-system components.
- Define scalability, availability, durability, and correctness requirements for owned systems.
- Optimize code and data paths for high-throughput, hyper-scale workloads and large-scale retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Design fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting.
- Build KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, and complex validation scenarios such as fault injection and brownouts.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, support operational rotations, conduct root-cause investigations, and ensure operational readiness.
- Implement security controls, execute remediation plans, and maintain cloud compliance documentation.
- Develop infrastructure automation and change-management processes for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Coordinate moderately complex projects, provide technical oversight, mentor team members, and participate in candidate interviews.
Requirements
- Experience leading development and beginning architecture of scalable distributed systems.
- Ability to design systems for elasticity, high throughput, fault tolerance, in-service upgrades, replication, synchronization, and network unreliability.
- Experience with performance and load testing, telemetry, dashboards, alerting, fault injection, and correctness validation.
- Experience troubleshooting production systems and participating in incident response and operational support rotations.
- Knowledge of security controls, encryption, access controls, remediation, cloud compliance, infrastructure automation, and change management.
- Ability to coordinate moderately complex initiatives, provide technical oversight, collaborate across teams, coach junior team members, and contribute to hiring decisions.

- US base salary range is $114,600 to $234,600 per annum, with potential bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
