Responsibilities
- Develop and validate embedded and cloud-edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs.
- Design system-level software solutions in collaboration with systems, hardware, architecture, and test engineers.
- Develop Linux or other operating-system software, low-level device drivers, boot code, and board support packages.
- Perform low-level software and interface debugging using industry-standard debuggers, IDEs, and build tools.
- Apply secure coding and modern object-oriented software design practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 4+ years of software engineering experience; alternatively, a master's degree plus 3+ years or a PhD plus 2+ years.
- 2+ years of programming experience with languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- 8+ years of experience with programming languages such as C and C++, including exposure to Python, and 5+ years of embedded software, driver development, or operating-system experience are stated in the job summary.
- 5+ years of experience with low-level software, interfaces, debugging, and software development tools.
- Experience with Linux kernel development, BSP development, low-level device drivers, boot code, secure coding, and software design and implementation.
- Experience with Git, Gerrit, Perforce, IDEs, build tools, and HSW/HE debuggers.
- Strong operating-system fundamentals and familiarity with C++11/17 and ARM architecture are preferred or advantageous.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree and experience with database management software, APIs, and source-code management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are required.
