Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products.
- Develop software and tools supporting product designs.
- Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify local, networked, cloud-based, and Internet-related applications.
- Implement designs using modern programming practices and complete application testing and debugging.
- Lead or drive software development initiatives and participate in or lead design activities.
- Mentor software engineers on the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a directly related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least five years of software development experience in the team’s primary programming language.
- Experience mentoring software engineers and working through the full software development life cycle.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with multithreaded and network programming is desired.
- Object-oriented development experience with languages such as C++ is desired.
- Experience developing cloud-based applications for public cloud environments is desired.
- Application development experience on Unix/Linux is desired, with Windows experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of design patterns and data structures is desired.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and Unix internals is desired.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods and willingness to travel as needed.
