Responsibilities
- Support development, configuration, integration, and validation of embedded software for automotive ECU and vehicle electrification programs.
- Implement embedded software using C/C++, model-based generated code, or AUTOSAR software components.
- Assist with application software, basic software, communication interfaces, diagnostics, memory services, and bootloader integration.
- Support cybersecurity features including secure communication, secure boot, secure software updates, key management, and HSM interface integration.
- Review requirements and maintain traceability among requirements, software design, implementation tasks, and verification evidence.
- Prepare software design notes, implementation documentation, test evidence, and other engineering work products.
- Support debugging, root cause analysis, software verification, design reviews, code reviews, and integration reviews.
- Follow software development processes, coding guidelines, configuration management practices, and automotive engineering quality expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Three years of experience in embedded software development, automotive software, controls software, or related engineering coursework, internships, co-ops, or projects.
- Basic programming experience in C or C++ and familiarity with embedded concepts, microcontrollers, memory, interrupts, and real-time constraints.
- Exposure to automotive ECUs, AUTOSAR, CAN/LIN/Ethernet, diagnostics, bootloaders, or model-based development is preferred but not required.
- Basic awareness of authentication, encryption, secure communication, secure boot, software updates, or key management is a plus.
- Familiarity with Jira, Polarion, Azure DevOps, Git, or similar engineering lifecycle and configuration management tools is a plus.
- Awareness of ASPICE, ISO 26262, or ISO/SAE 21434 is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, learning, and task-completion skills.
