Base Salary
$160k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software features for current and future products.
- Develop switch-controller-related features for the FortiGate and FortiSwitch product lines.
- Fix bugs in current products and optimize code for performance and resource efficiency.
- Implement high-quality software features on schedule.
- Review team members’ code changes and collaborate across teams on technical approaches.
- Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
Requirements
- At least 13 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong C and Linux experience, including Linux kernel and driver development.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switching, routing, and socket programming.
- Experience with ARM and x86 architectures in multiprocess and multithreaded environments.
- Knowledge of Shell and Python scripting languages.
- Familiarity with L2 protocols and features including STP, RSTP, LACP, LLDP, and VLAN, and L3 protocols including BGP and OSPF.
- Familiarity with system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, embedded switch or router real-time operating system architecture, and general QA procedures.
- Experience with firewalls, libcurl, JSON, CAPWAP, and HTTPS tunneling is preferred or a plus.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required; master’s degree preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
