Responsibilities
- Propose and enhance project test plans with a focus on test automation.
- Design, maintain, and execute test cases across the full software testing stack.
- Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis and debugging, and uncover complex edge cases.
- Develop automated tests and test environments using Java, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Perform exploratory, performance, load, application profiling, memory, and chaos testing.
- Define quality metrics, telemetry, and reporting dashboards.
- Integrate test execution and static code analysis tools into CI/CD pipelines and maintain pipeline health.
- Collaborate with QA, business analysis, development, and DevOps teams to improve test automation and coverage.
- Promote QA best practices and a culture in which quality is shared across the team.
- Build understanding of business, technical, and operational requirements and suggest process improvements.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, shift-left practices, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Java with a focus on automated testing, debugging, and root cause analysis.
- Experience implementing unit, component, integration, system, and end-to-end tests.
- Working knowledge of BDD practices, including story refinement, example mapping, acceptance criteria definition, and Three Amigos.
- Experience translating feature specifications into test coverage and test plans.
- Practical knowledge of application profiling, observability, monitoring, quality metrics, and reporting.
- Hands-on exposure to chaos testing and understanding of performance and load testing for distributed publish/subscribe low-latency messaging technologies.
- Experience integrating test runs and static code analysis into CI/CD pipelines and reducing false positives.
- Background building containerized test environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AWS, GCP, Azure, and OpenShift.
- Knowledge of AI tooling applications in QA workflows.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Financial services or trading domain experience is preferred.
