Responsibilities

  • Define current- and future-state architecture for refining capabilities, applications, integrations, data flows, and enabling technologies.
  • Elicit and document complex business requirements and translate them into clear solution designs.
  • Design end-to-end application and integration structures, including process flows, APIs, data models, master data, and workflow orchestration.
  • Analyze systems and processes to identify technical debt, duplication, performance issues, security risks, and standardization opportunities.
  • Develop application roadmaps, architecture artifacts, standards, reusable patterns, and rollout plans across refinery sites.
  • Evaluate cloud, data, integration, and AI-enabled technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business outcomes.
  • Guide design reviews, governance, testing, release planning, implementation, and application support activities.
  • Monitor application health and coordinate resolution of complex defects, performance issues, vulnerabilities, and security concerns.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and subject matter expert while influencing architecture decisions across business and technical teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 6 years of overall IT experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in solution, application, enterprise, or business architecture roles supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy, or refining environments.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing complex, integrated software and data solutions and serving as a technical advisor on high-complexity initiatives.
  • At least 5 years of experience working across business and technical teams to define requirements, shape roadmaps, and deliver scalable solutions.
  • At least 5 years of experience with enterprise integration, application architecture, data architecture, and hybrid platform patterns.
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • Preferred experience with Azure, AWS, cloud-native services, identity, networking, security, observability, monitoring, cost management, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Preferred experience with APIs, REST APIs, integration testing, test automation, continuous integration and deployment, requirements modeling, gap analysis, and application support.
  • Preferred experience in refining, petrochemical, or other asset-intensive industrial operations, including refining maintenance, turnaround, reliability, inspection, operations, or technical services.
  • Preferred familiarity with Databricks, lakehouse architectures, data lakes, data warehouses, streaming platforms, semantic models, AI platforms, Azure AI, and Azure OpenAI.
  • Preferred familiarity with AKS, EKS, Kubernetes, microservices, API management, service-to-service integration, secrets management, observability, MuleSoft, Azure Data Factory, Azure Integration Services, API gateways, event-driven architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and integration across SaaS, cloud, on-premises, and OT-adjacent systems.
  • Preferred understanding of relational, NoSQL, time-series, graph, and analytical databases, industrial cybersecurity, OT/IT segmentation, secure data movement, and operational technology risk management.
  • Preferred experience supporting AI, advanced analytics, or decision-support solutions in operational environments and influencing architecture decisions without direct authority.
