Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and iterate on high-fidelity proof-of-concept Android applications and system-level modifications for novel Pixel experiences.
- Partner with Staff Engineering, UX, Product, and Hardware teams to translate abstract concepts, sketches, and technical strategies into working software.
- Experiment with on-device ML models, experimental sensor APIs, and unreleased hardware features.
- Identify and creatively bypass technical roadblocks within the Android stack while optimizing for rapid demonstrations.
- Adapt technical approaches quickly based on daily learnings, UX research feedback, and continuous discovery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in Java or Kotlin.
- At least 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- At least 1 year of experience with large-scale application design and architecture.
- At least 3 years of Android application development experience.
- At least 3 years of industry or academic experience with rapid prototyping techniques for new products.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Preferred: experience prototyping proof-of-concept ideas through completion.
