Responsibilities
- Define, track, and enforce SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets across development teams.
- Partner with software architects to review designs for reliability, scalability, and security compliance.
- Define and enforce reliability-focused quality gates in the CI/CD pipeline.
- Oversee incident post-mortems and ensure teams address resulting bugs and architectural improvements.
- Design chaos engineering scenarios and game days to validate system resilience.
- Analyze development workflows and guide teams in reducing toil through automation.
- Mentor and influence developers and engineering teams without direct authority.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or technical product management.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and distributed systems architecture.
- Understanding of microservices and cloud-native patterns across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Expertise in SLOs, SLIs, error budget policies, and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, tracing, and system health metrics, including Prometheus, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Preferred experience implementing ITIL, Agile, or DevOps practices at scale.
- Preferred certification in cloud architecture or Agile project management.
- Previous experience as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager is a bonus.
