Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain software across the YouVersion platform.
  • Take tasks from idea through implementation with team support.
  • Write maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
  • Build and run tests to ensure reliable, user-friendly features.
  • Debug issues and help keep systems running smoothly.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver features.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for software.

Requirements

  • Foundational software development experience with technologies such as Dart, Swift, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Experience in at least one technical area: backend/API development, mobile development, web development, or optionally data querying.
  • Backend candidates should have experience with Python or Golang and a basic understanding of APIs and scalable systems.
  • Mobile candidates should have experience with Flutter/Dart, iOS/Swift, or Android, plus familiarity with mobile development and testing practices.
  • Web candidates should have experience with React, Node.js, or similar frameworks and working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • High school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of related work experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, initiative, and willingness to learn.
  • Alignment with Life.Church’s mission and desire to build software with meaningful impact.
