Responsibilities
- Own and scale authentication architecture for Cursor.
- Build and optimize backend infrastructure supporting agent workflows.
- Develop a robust webhook server with retry semantics, dead-letter queues, and observability.
- Create resilient abstractions over source-control providers and integrations.
- Improve end-to-end reliability and performance from user action through agent response.
- Own the full lifecycle of production backend services and provide clean abstractions and service contracts for other engineers.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating critical backend services, particularly authentication systems, API gateways, or webhook infrastructure.
- Experience with agentic products or infrastructure and reliability and performance of complex multi-step systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience owning production services through their full lifecycle.
- Ability to design clean abstractions and well-defined service contracts.
- Experience with OAuth, JWTs, RBAC, event-driven architectures, or developer-facing platform services is a plus.
