Senior Staff Software Engineer - Delta

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems for Databricks workspaces and Delta Lake write-path operations.
- Build high-QPS, low-latency, reliable, and performant services that can support future growth.
- Debug low-level systems, measure and optimize performance, and investigate production issues on large clusters.
- Design architectures, influence the product roadmap, and own new projects from initiation through delivery.
- Introduce automation and operability tools for services.
- Plan and lead complex technical projects involving multiple internal teams.
- Mentor engineers, lead sprint planning, delegate assignments, and improve coding practices and system designs.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures, including real-world applications.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related major, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work toward a multi-year technical vision through incremental deliverables.
- Experience driving company initiatives toward customer satisfaction.
- Motivation to deliver customer value and measurable impact.
