Responsibilities

  • Debug and resolve cross-system issues spanning software, real-time messaging, networking, RF, and hardware.
  • Investigate performance, latency, reliability, and uptime issues in messaging, gateway, and runtime infrastructure.
  • Write and maintain software stacks under systems architect supervision.
  • Analyze system behavior under degraded, intermittent, contested, or denied link conditions.
  • Use multimeters and oscilloscopes to diagnose issues at the hardware/software boundary.
  • Contribute to system health through performance baselining, crash root-cause analysis, system-level verification, and release-readiness evidence.
  • Support integration tooling, CI/CD, automated regression, and SIL/HIL environments.
  • Maintain Interface Control Documents and integration contracts and translate operational requirements into system constraints.
  • Build logging, tracing, and metrics into cross-system components.
  • Identify and mitigate integration risks during live exercises and deployments.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python and the ability to write production-quality software under architect-level supervision.
  • Experience with real-time or low-latency messaging or middleware such as DDS, ROS/ROS2, ZeroMQ, MQTT, or gRPC.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, multicast, and basic routing for connectivity and performance debugging.
  • Working familiarity with RF and wireless concepts including link quality, interference, and basic link-budget reasoning.
  • Comfort using multimeters and oscilloscopes for hardware/software boundary debugging.
  • Ability to debug across application, network, RF, and hardware-adjacent layers.
  • Experience with Linux systems and command-line debugging tools.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
