Responsibilities
- Design scalable, resilient, secure, performant, and cost-effective end-to-end AWS architectures for customer-facing applications.
- Build proofs of concept, prototypes, reference implementations, foundational components, integrations, and infrastructure.
- Design and implement serverless, microservices, event-driven, API, synchronous, asynchronous, publish/subscribe, and queue-based solutions.
- Review code and technical designs, validate engineering decisions, and guide development teams through implementation.
- Troubleshoot application, integration, infrastructure, and production issues and support incident analysis and continuous reliability improvements.
- Apply AWS security and IAM best practices, including least privilege, secrets management, encryption, identity management, and secure network design.
- Define and support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code deployments.
- Design logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alerting capabilities.
- Present architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders and maintain practical architecture documentation.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, QA professionals, DevOps engineers, and international engineering and business teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- At least 4 years of experience designing and implementing AWS solutions.
- Hands-on architect experience embedded within delivery teams and taking solutions from design through production deployment.
- Experience designing highly available, resilient, and scalable customer-facing applications and writing, reading, and reviewing production-quality code.
- Deep knowledge of AWS compute, storage, VPC networking, databases, messaging services, the AWS Well-Architected Framework, Multi-AZ architectures, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, AWS Step Functions, IAM, Amazon Cognito or equivalent identity solutions, AWS KMS, AWS Secrets Manager, and AWS WAF.
- Experience with microservices, API contracts, scalable integration patterns, retries, idempotency, dead-letter handling, and synchronous and asynchronous integrations.
- Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline, plus Git-based workflows and automated testing practices.
- Experience with Docker, Amazon ECS or AWS Fargate, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, or Kibana.
- Hands-on proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or Java.
- Understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, encryption, secrets management, and secure network design.
