Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, deploy, and support algorithmic trading strategies, analytical tools, and trading engines using core Java.
- Develop systems for automated market making, DMA, and algorithmic trading in liquid markets, including equities, FX, and rates.
- Improve the technical and execution performance of high-volume, low-latency, resilient, scalable, message-driven trading systems.
- Generate and analyze trading signals and data, including time-series data.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements through design, development, deployment, and support.
- Communicate with product leads and collaborate with global trading, quant, and IT teams on technology improvements.
- Guide junior staff and manage multiple functions or initiatives.
Requirements
- Advanced understanding of the relevant business line and discipline, with some knowledge of the competitive environment and other disciplines.
- Core Java development experience in a UNIX/Linux environment and strong Linux fundamentals.
- Ability to analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into well-designed, well-programmed solutions.
- Strong logical problem-solving, analytical, communication, and global teamwork skills.
- Experience with Git/Stash and Jenkins.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit.
- Interest in developing automated market-making, DMA, or algorithmic-trading systems using the FIX protocol.
- Experience with web service development and REST.
- TypeScript knowledge, preferably with the Angular framework.
- Experience with low-latency messaging middleware and publish/subscribe technologies.
- Experience with time-series data analysis technologies such as KDB/q.
- Interest in learning the business supported by the applications.
