Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components and data-plane platforms for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Optimize high-concurrency systems and network solutions and implement performance and load testing.
- Build fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Create tests, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Implement replication and synchronization techniques to maintain data correctness, integrity, and availability.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, participate in support rotations, incident response, and root-cause investigations.
- Develop troubleshooting and maintenance automation, including Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance standards, documentation, and change-management procedures.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operational experience.
- Strong experience with data-plane architectures in networking devices and high-concurrency systems.
- Experience designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance network solutions using DPDK and C/C++.
- Working experience with Linux operating systems or kernels, device drivers, performance testing tools, and distributed debugging tools.
- Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and in startup or fast-paced enterprise technology environments.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, teamwork, learning, and cross-team process improvement skills.
