Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components using distributed state management and data-plane platforms.
- Optimize systems and code for large-scale data processing, retrieval, storage, and high-concurrency workloads.
- Implement and review scalability requirements and conduct performance and load testing.
- Build fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and recovery-oriented design.
- Develop tests, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Implement replication and synchronization techniques to maintain data correctness, integrity, and availability.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, develop troubleshooting automation, and participate in incident response and root-cause investigations.
- Apply encryption, access controls, remediation plans, cloud compliance practices, and current technical documentation.
- Maintain Infrastructure as Code and other automation for cloud infrastructure, including patching, updates, rollbacks, and change management.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operations experience.
- Strong experience with data-plane architectures in networking devices and high-concurrency systems.
- Experience designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance network solutions using DPDK and C/C++.
- Working experience with Linux operating systems or kernels, device drivers, performance testing tools, and distributed debugging tools.
- Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and in startup or fast-paced enterprise technology environments.
- Ability to work in complex, rapidly evolving software-development environments and learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, teamwork, and cross-team process-improvement skills.
