Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions across multiple teams.
- Define and drive front-end engineering architecture and strategy.
- Represent engineering in architecture boards, technical governance forums, and design discussions.
- Champion engineering practices covering code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and software delivery.
- Embed AI-driven engineering practices and support effective use of AI across the software development lifecycle.
- Drive experimentation, optimisation, and testing strategies to improve customer and business outcomes.
- Mentor and coach engineers while providing hands-on technical leadership.
- Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering leaders on technical direction and product roadmaps.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating at Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer, or equivalent level.
- A track record of delivering complex software solutions at scale.
- Expert-level React and TypeScript skills, including design systems and front-end architecture strategy across multiple teams.
- Experience applying AI in software development, including coding tools, prompt engineering, AI service integration, data connectivity, best practices, and adoption across engineering teams.
- Excellent influencing and mentoring skills, including experience representing engineering in architecture boards, technical governance forums, and design discussions.
- Desirable experience with component libraries, accessibility, and performance optimisation.
- Desirable expertise in optimisation and experimentation, including A/B testing, personalisation, feature flagging, recommendation systems, or other data-driven decisioning capabilities.
