Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Android features using Kotlin/Java across devices and operating system versions.
  • Lead moderately complex initiatives involving UI flows, data and state management, offline and error handling, and technical design decisions.
  • Integrate Android applications with REST and GraphQL backend services and implement secure authentication, storage, and network communications.
  • Build automated unit, instrumentation, and UI tests and improve crash rates, ANR behavior, and application performance.
  • Improve Android CI/CD workflows, including lint, static analysis, automated testing, signing, and release processes.
  • Use approved AI-assisted development tools for refactoring, test generation, and documentation with secure validation.
  • Contribute to modularization, shared libraries, release strategies, operational readiness, and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
  • Strong hands-on Android development experience with Kotlin, the Android SDK, and modern architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
  • Experience building accessible and responsive mobile UIs with Jetpack Compose and/or XML.
  • Experience with mobile unit, instrumentation, and UI testing and troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Experience implementing or improving CI/CD for mobile applications.
  • Disciplined experience using approved AI coding assistants such as Claude AI with verification and secure usage practices.
  • Preferred experience includes modularization, shared libraries, performance profiling, crash and ANR monitoring, mobile security, OWASP MASVS, secure networking, secrets handling, certificate pinning, feature flags, phased rollouts, runbooks, monitoring, mentoring, and delivery-metric improvement.
