Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and delivery of connected security and smart-building products.
- Integrate security video products with security panels, thermostats, water-leak detectors, and other connected devices.
- Break down requirements into manageable development tasks and keep Jira updated with progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, planning sessions, retrospectives, and other team meetings.
- Apply software engineering practices including test-driven development, version control, continuous integration, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with firmware, cloud, product, and quality teams to deliver secure and reliable products.
- Develop knowledge of embedded Linux, image processing, computer vision, connected-device platforms, and developer-driven AI workflows.
- Contribute to special projects and support Resideo’s strategic goals.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of academic or professional programming experience, preferably with C/C++ or an object-oriented language.
- At least 1 year of academic or professional experience working in Linux operating system environments.
- At least 1 year of academic or professional experience working on a collaborative engineering team.
- Academic, project, or practical experience with embedded Linux, firmware development, or connected devices is valued.
- Interest in image processing, computer vision, video-based product features, and developer-driven AI workflows is valued.
- Familiarity with test-driven development, Git, GitHub Actions, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools is valued.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, collaboration, communication, and willingness to learn are valued.
- A customer-focused mindset and interest in secure, intelligent connected experiences are valued.
