Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for analytics, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Build services that process, aggregate, enrich, and serve large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Develop data services and APIs optimized for interactive dashboards, visualizations, reporting interfaces, and customer-facing applications.
- Define service interfaces, data structures, data models, processing workflows, caching strategies, and integrations.
- Optimize data access, aggregation, service performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with frontend, UX, data engineering, AI/ML, product, DevOps, and platform teams.
- Implement monitoring, logging, testing, and observability in production services.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across backend services, analytics workflows, data processing, and frontend integrations.
- Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing backend applications and services.
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages and associated frameworks.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, or other service-oriented applications.
- Understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and applications that process, transform, aggregate, or serve significant data volumes.
- Experience building scalable, reliable production applications and backend services for data-rich interactive applications.
- Understanding of data modeling, aggregation, filtering, querying, and analytics application patterns.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, source control, and modern software development practices.
- Strong application performance optimization, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Working understanding of Agile development methodologies and frameworks.
