Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to understand their most important problems and design data-driven solutions.
- Own the end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects in small teams with minimal supervision.
- Discuss architecture with engineers and wrangle large-scale data.
- Code custom web applications and develop technical solutions using appropriate technologies.
- Engage with customer executives and establish strategy for the team.
- Collaborate with other Forward Deployed Software Engineers, product teams, Deployment Strategists, and customers, often on site.
Requirements
- Strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities involving data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
- Experience or interest in using large-scale data to solve valuable business problems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Fluency in Norwegian and English.
- Willingness and ability to travel to client sites as needed; 25–50% travel is preferred but may vary by team and location.
