Responsibilities
- Earn the trust of large-scale operator customers to meet business objectives.
- Design and lead the development of backend services and distributed systems.
- Drive continuous improvement of engineering culture.
- Manage projects from ideation through to production.
- Enhance the scalability, reliability, and security of the Grafana platform.
- Participate in on-call rotations to maintain operational health.
- Hire and develop top engineering talent.
- Develop skills as a thought leader in engineering practices.
Requirements
- Deep experience in writing production services from ideation to operations.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, including fault tolerance and consistency models.
- Experience designing systems for large-scale, high-traffic environments.
- Proficient in building and consuming gRPC/protobuf APIs.
- Strong database skills, particularly in PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Experience with CI/CD systems and build tooling.
- Comfortable working with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Familiarity with observability tooling like OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.
