Responsibilities
- Develop and improve software test cases, test processes, methods, and documentation.
- Lead system and software validation for connectivity projects or teams on test benches and in vehicles.
- Apply testing tools and methods across automotive infotainment, consumer electronics, embedded systems, and Android platforms.
- Coordinate with project teams and partners to define and meet milestones, identify dependencies and risks, and resolve roadblocks.
- Identify product requirement and performance issues and work with software teams or partners on solutions.
- Perform test case development, test execution, test management, test status reporting, debugging, and test automation.
- Track project status and work with peer test leads to align dependencies and schedules.
- Maintain project status in Jira and work within an Agile development process.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in automotive projects and testing of infotainment or telematics systems.
- Working knowledge of connectivity technologies, tools, test methods, functional and non-functional testing, software test life cycles, and test design methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of CAN protocol and CAN analyzer tools.
- Expertise testing embedded systems or Android platforms and Android applications.
- Expertise with software test and debugging tools, test automation, scripting languages, and testing across all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Expertise in test case development, test execution, test management, and test status reporting.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies and, preferably, Jira.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, time management, problem-solving, professionalism, and independent project management skills.
- A BS in Computer Science or Engineering is desired; an MS is strongly preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include software testing training such as SQE or ISTQB, embedded programming, real-time programming or operating systems, programming with C/C++, Java, .NET, Android, J2ME, or Windows Mobile, and embedded hardware or system design experience.
- Willingness to travel, work in the Novi office, complete a background investigation and drug screen, and satisfy the stated driving-record requirements.
