Base Salary
$123k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design core backend software components and implement tier-one Java microservices for the Unified Messaging Platform.
- Build asynchronous cloud processes for data transformation operations.
- Lead the design and enhancement of critical services for scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Research and integrate technologies into production, contribute to technical designs, and own features and projects end-to-end.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, Operations, and other stakeholders to define requirements and communicate technical decisions.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, standups, and retrospectives.
- Provide rotational on-call support for critical services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience building internet-scale web or services applications.
- Experience with Java, cloud services, version-control and project-management tools, service APIs or SDKs, and software development fundamentals.
- Experience writing unit, integration, and functional tests and using CI/CD procedures and tools.
- Experience working on a modern Agile software team with version control and project practices.
- Preferred: knowledge or certification with AWS services including ECS, Docker, S3, EC2, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
- Preferred: experience with Spark, Databricks, EMR, Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tooling, and scalable fault-tolerant systems.
- Preferred: experience mentoring developers and working with React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
Benefits
- Full-time position based in New York, NY.
- Hiring range is $123,000 to $165,000 per year in base pay.
- A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided in addition to medical, financial, and other benefits.
