Base Salary

$75k - $275k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate requirements, propose solutions, and explore design tradeoffs.
  • Design algorithms using modern theory and proven techniques.
  • Develop embedded software for resource-constrained, real-time targets based on prototype algorithms.
  • Analyze designs and execute software tests to verify performance, functionality, and requirements compliance.
  • Troubleshoot problems, determine root causes, and develop solutions for inefficient or defective designs.
  • Prepare technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other documentation.
  • Contribute to requirements development and architecture solution ideation while driving complex solutions with limited direction.
  • Own a subset of the engineering scope and identify and mitigate program- and system-level technical risks.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10–15 years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent embedded-target development and troubleshooting skills, including operating-system coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
  • Expertise in real-time software development and mastery of high-level languages such as C, C++, or Rust.
  • Experience with UML and SysML.
  • Experience with in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, and laboratory test equipment.
  • Knowledge of software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; Secret clearance is preferred.
