Responsibilities
- Review requirements, user stories, designs, and acceptance criteria to identify risks, ambiguities, dependencies, and test conditions.
- Create, maintain, and execute mobile test plans, test cases, exploratory charters, checklists, and regression suites for iOS and Android applications.
- Perform functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, smoke, sanity, usability, compatibility, localization, performance, accessibility, security, and resilience testing as applicable.
- Validate mobile behavior across devices, screen sizes, operating-system versions, orientations, permissions, installation and upgrade paths, network conditions, notifications, deep links, and offline scenarios.
- Test REST APIs, backend integrations, authentication flows, and data consistency using tools such as Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated mobile tests using Appium or comparable frameworks, improving coverage, stability, execution time, reporting, and maintainability.
- Prepare test data and environments, including mocks or stubs where appropriate.
- Log, reproduce, isolate, verify, and investigate defects using diagnostic information, logs, API responses, device details, and test data.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor build, production, crash, analytics, and customer-reported quality indicators.
- Track testing progress, coverage, defect trends, residual risks, and release-readiness recommendations.
- Collaborate with mobile developers, backend engineers, business analysts, UX/UI designers, DevOps engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on software testing experience, including practical testing of native or cross-platform iOS and Android applications.
- Strong knowledge of software testing principles, test design techniques, defect lifecycles, and risk-based testing.
- Demonstrated experience with manual functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and compatibility testing.
- Practical experience developing or maintaining mobile UI automation using Appium or a comparable framework.
- Working knowledge of at least one automation language such as Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Kotlin.
- Experience testing REST APIs and analyzing JSON data, HTTP requests and responses, status codes, and authentication mechanisms.
- Experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD workflows, and Jira or a comparable work-management and defect-tracking system.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with XCTest/XCUITest, Espresso, UI Automator, Flutter, React Native, or .NET MAUI.
- Preferred experience with device farms and cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or Firebase Test Lab.
- Preferred familiarity with log analysis, crash reporting, monitoring, analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, mobile-specific integrations, or ISTQB practices and testing certifications.
