Base Salary
$140k - $179k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain frontend and backend features for cloud software systems, applications, and APIs connected to Sofar hardware products.
- Own features across the full lifecycle, from conception and architecture through development, testing, release, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization.
- Develop React interfaces, TypeScript and Express backend APIs, and Postgres data solutions.
- Improve performance for real-time streaming data and complex visualizations through component data invalidation, caching, database optimization, and configurable hardware thresholds.
- Automate processes for safely configuring and updating remote hardware devices.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, firmware, design, product, and science teams.
- Mentor other engineers through collaboration and thoughtful code reviews.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in modern cloud environments.
- Significant professional experience with TypeScript, React, and Postgres.
- Experience owning the full lifecycle of software features, including architecture, development, testing, release, monitoring, alerting, maintenance, and optimization.
- Experience building modern web applications with frontend and backend components.
- Ability to own features end to end with minimal specification and collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Preferred experience deploying across AWS services including ECS, ALB, CloudFront, RDS, ElastiCache, Lambda, and IAM.
- Preferred experience with complex data visualizations, acoustics or sonic propagation, and direct collaboration with hardware or firmware teams.
