Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software in accordance with technical and functional specifications, agreed stories, procedures, and standards.
- Create solutions independently and support team members in development and design efforts.
- Define and document flowchart logic, data flow, UML diagrams, specifications, and pseudocode for application designs.
- Research, analyze, estimate, document, and communicate progress, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies for development work.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and provide support for software in production and non-production environments.
- Suggest changes that improve application growth and scalability and apply increasingly complex development, architecture, and design concepts.
- Participate in developer on-call and potentially after-hours, weekend, and holiday production support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of development experience.
- Professional experience reading, developing, and troubleshooting software using languages such as BASIC, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and SQL, along with HTML and XML.
- Solid knowledge of programming languages, data structures, algorithms, software development patterns, software design, and architecture.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, UML, business concepts and rules, data flow, database structures, and supported software systems.
- Ability to translate technical specifications into logic and solutions, work across multiple priorities, apply new technologies, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively and provide guidance or seek guidance as appropriate.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Waterfall or Scrum.
- Knowledge or experience with multi-value or NoSQL databases and organizations using a distribution model is preferred.
