Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture of complex customer engagements from application assessment and modernization strategy through design, implementation, and production go-live.
- Advise senior customer engineering leaders on re-architecting, migrating, and modernizing application portfolios on AWS.
- Lead technical workstreams involving AWS consultants, partners, and customer developers, and set architecture direction across cloud-native and AI-enabled workloads.
- Write and review code, produce architecture artifacts, run design reviews, and resolve technical risks.
- Guide customers through AI-assisted software engineering and the AI Development Life Cycle, including problem framing, data readiness, model selection, deployment, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement scalable, highly available applications using AWS services, Generative AI, and Agentic AI capabilities.
- Support pre-sales by shaping solution designs and estimates, and mentor engineers by developing reusable architecture patterns.
- Scope development efforts, prioritize deliverables, and guide trade-offs among innovation, speed, cost, performance, security, resilience, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical specialist, design, and architecture experience.
- 10+ years of consulting, design, and implementation experience with serverless distributed solutions.
- 10+ years of software development experience using an object-oriented language.
- 10+ years of external or internal customer-facing experience managing complex, large-scale projects.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
- Experience leading development of applications backed by AWS services or other cloud technologies and services.
- Experience designing and building applications using AWS Lambda, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, or Kubernetes.
- Experience with Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C.
- Professional non-internship software development experience, or experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing.
- Production experience with CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software engineering, data preparation, prompt engineering, model evaluation, and deploying Generative AI or Agentic AI solutions.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
