Staff Embedded Software Engineer

- Design system and software architectures for embedded automotive platforms.
- Develop middleware frameworks and device drivers for ADAS/AD, gateway, and cockpit/IVI systems using Renesas SoC products.
- Define middleware and driver requirements.
- Develop demonstrations of completed software.
- Perform software design, development, verification, and validation from module level through full system.
- Design and implement scheduling, multi-process and multi-core operation, multi-device communication, OS IPC, memory resource management, and freedom-from-interference concepts.
- Develop and maintain video input and output pipelines, camera interfaces, and image-processing solutions.
- Own complex software designs and deliver work within committed schedules.
Requirements
- University degree or higher in Electronics, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics–Computer Science, Physics–Electronics, or Physics–Computer Science.
- At least 5 years of software experience for the Staff Engineer level.
- Experience with embedded software development across Linux, Android, QNX, and FreeRTOS.
- Familiarity with Linux/V4L2/libcamera/GStreamer, Android/VideoCamera, and QNX/Sensor Camera frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of video input and output pipelines, MIPI-CSI2, serializer/deserializer systems, and image processing.
- Experience with software design, implementation, verification, and validation from module to full-system level.
- Experience with ISO26262, Automotive SPICE, and CMMI software development processes.
- Proficiency in architecture, unit-level design, implementation, and object-oriented programming.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and design complex software with limited supervision.
- Understanding of Renesas platforms is preferred.
- Strong English writing and speaking skills and effective teamwork, initiative, responsibility, punctuality, and attention to detail are preferred.
