Base Salary

$105k - $235k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and operation of secure, highly available IAM services.
  • Drive reliability, availability, scalability, performance, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and operational readiness for Tier-0 systems.
  • Define technical direction and lead complex initiatives spanning multiple services and engineering teams.
  • Architect identity capabilities for AI agents, machine identities, services, and users.
  • Diagnose complex production issues and implement systemic improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead design reviews and make high-impact architectural decisions balancing security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Improve observability and automation for mission-critical services.
  • Partner with Product Management, Security, and engineering teams to deliver durable technical solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards through technical leadership, design reviews, and code reviews.

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in Java, Go, C++, Python, or a similar language.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, fault tolerance, and high-availability architectures.
  • Significant experience designing and operating large-scale, mission-critical cloud services.
  • Strong experience with microservices, cloud architectures, automated testing, and service operations.
  • Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, application security, and secure software development.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production systems and improving reliability and performance.
  • Understanding of security and compliance requirements including FedRAMP and PCI DSS.
  • Preferred experience with IAM systems and Tier-0 or similarly critical services.
  • Experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
  • Experience with observability, SLOs, distributed tracing, reliability engineering, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, JWT, or applied cryptography is preferred.
  • Familiarity with identity models for AI agents, machine identities, delegation, and agentic systems is preferred.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, make architectural decisions, influence across teams, and mentor engineers.
