Responsibilities
- Own the reliability, health, and uptime of deployed imaging systems.
- Triage, diagnose, and resolve field issues involving networks, services, calibration, upgrades, and sensor hardware.
- Serve as the first- and second-line escalation point for customer-support and deployment issues.
- Participate in a structured on-call rotation, including scheduled after-hours and weekend coverage.
- Create and maintain runbooks, diagnostics, and self-service tooling to reduce recurring incidents.
- Reproduce, document, and hand off genuine software defects to Mission Software Engineers.
- Use field experience to improve observability, upgrade safety, failure handling, and system supportability.
- Conduct remote troubleshooting with field operators and travel for field support and deployment windows.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, field or systems engineering, or production support for deployed hardware/software systems.
- Strong Linux fundamentals and practical troubleshooting experience with IP, routing, VPNs, and constrained or field networking environments.
- Ability to diagnose issues across networking, services, and hardware boundaries with incomplete system visibility.
- Experience owning a structured on-call rotation with after-hours and weekend coverage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including remote troubleshooting with non-technical operators and incident documentation.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
- Preferred experience supporting deployed systems and fielded hardware or sensor systems such as EO/IR or optical systems.
- Preferred scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar tools.
- Preferred familiarity with Nix or NixOS, systemd service management, Linux observability practices, and PagerDuty or equivalent incident tooling.

- US base salary range of $112,000–$149,000; equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers but are excluded from the stated base salary.
