Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain internal AI tooling for coding assistance, test generation, deployments, and defect triage.
- Build observability into AI-assisted engineering pipelines and track metrics such as cycle time, defect escape rate, test coverage, and delivery turnaround.
- Automate manual coding, testing, and release activities so they can run largely unattended.
- Partner with product, testing, and project management teams to apply AI to exploratory test generation, defect clustering, flaky-test detection, and test prioritization.
- Evaluate, pilot, and roll out LLM-based developer tools integrated with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and engineering pipelines.
- Define responsible AI standards covering data handling, prompt hygiene, and safeguards for production and customer data.
- Mentor engineers and serve as the technical authority for AI-assisted engineering practices across Brokerage Services.
- Work with security and compliance teams to ensure AI tooling meets regulatory and data-handling requirements.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a senior or staff-level engineer with a strong record of technical influence.
- Deep hands-on expertise in backend service ecosystems and shared service architecture.
- Strong fluency in test-driven development and pair programming.
- Experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting systems in production, including carrying the pager.
- A strong interest in aggressive automation and eliminating manual engineering steps.
- Experience evaluating or building with LLM-based developer tools in a real engineering environment.
- Preferred: experience with MCP, agentic tooling, or Spec Driven Development.
- Preferred: familiarity with the Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira, Confluence, and their APIs.
- Preferred: experience in financial services, trading platforms, or another regulated, high-reliability environment.
