Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality backend services and software components.
- Build, operate, and modernize reliable, scalable, and secure cloud services for message delivery across Microsoft 365.
- Contribute to service architecture, feature development, reliability improvements, performance optimization, monitoring, and production operations.
- Diagnose complex technical and production issues and drive them to resolution.
- Use data, telemetry, and engineering evidence to improve software and make technical decisions.
- Apply AI and AI-assisted engineering tools to development, testing, debugging, and productivity workflows.
- Explore and apply technologies that improve products or engineering practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and partner teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check and other applicable security screening requirements.
- Preferred: master’s degree with 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience developing and operating production backend services and understanding of APIs, data modeling, concurrency, cloud technologies, performance, reliability, and security.
- Preferred: practical understanding of generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, or AI-assisted software development.
- Preferred: strong software design, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and learning skills.
