Base Salary
$125k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing bioinformatics pipelines for performance, accuracy, and maintainability.
- Develop, extend, and maintain Nextflow workflows for various sequencing analyses.
- Architect scalable solutions for processing samples on Google Cloud Platform.
- Optimize data input/output operations to minimize bottlenecks.
- Prepare analysis outputs for visualization and downstream applications.
- Implement best practices for workflow versioning and documentation.
- Collaborate with computational biologists and data scientists.
- Stay current with advances in sequencing technologies.
Requirements
- Master's degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines.
- Proficiency with Nextflow and familiarity with workflow management concepts.
- Strong experience with RNA-seq and DNA sequencing workflows.
- Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for scripting and data manipulation.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
- Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD practices.
- Strong understanding of genomic file formats and common bioinformatics tools.
