Responsibilities
- Architect, build, document, test, and iterate on software for the robotic factory installation system.
- Develop perception, motion-planning, and controls software for reliable operation in unstructured field conditions.
- Contribute to low-level software powering robotic systems in factories and delivery vehicles, emphasizing correctness and safety.
- Control industrial automation hardware, including linear actuators, motors, and hydraulic systems.
- Deploy and support software on robotic systems at solar construction sites.
Requirements
- Experienced Python developer comfortable with at least one lower-level language such as C++.
- Experience writing real-time, embedded, or robotics software.
- Ability to develop highly performant, clean, documented, and tested software using version control and CI.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Based in or able to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work four to five days per week from the San Leandro headquarters.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% to solar construction sites.
- Experience with industrial robot arms, motion planning, or automation systems is preferred.
- A four-year degree in computer science, robotics, or a related field is preferred.
