Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain software components running on AuterionOS within the Board Support team.
  • Add peripheral driver support, implement features, resolve bugs, write tests, and optimize embedded software performance.
  • Work with engineering and product teams to understand internal and customer use cases and own implementation of new software solutions.
  • Provide Level 3 technical support to customers.
  • Write internal documentation and contribute to the public-facing knowledge base.
  • Participate in stand-ups, release planning, task prioritization, and sprint-based development activities.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience writing object-oriented C++ and/or Python.
  • Extensive experience with embedded architectures, cross-compilation, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Expert Linux skills covering command-line operations, resource management, system services, and networking.
  • Deep knowledge of the Linux kernel, embedded device drivers, device tree configuration, and U-Boot.
  • Experience with Debian/Ubuntu systems, systemd, Debian packaging workflows, and complex Docker environments.
  • Knowledge of OTA updates such as Mender and networking across the OSI model, including IP addressing, routing, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and hardware interfaces.
  • Experience using Wireshark and tcpdump for network diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of embedded security, secure boot, UEFI, boot-chain verification, SSL/TLS, VPNs, and encryption mechanisms.
  • Basic electrical engineering knowledge, including schematics and debugging I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN bus communications.
  • Bonus experience with video streaming, MIPI CSI drivers, NVIDIA Jetson, NXP iMX8, Linux open source contributions, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with stand-ups and sprint boards, plus a product-oriented approach to project initiatives.
