Responsibilities
- Write production-quality code across services, APIs, workflow engines, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Design, build, and evolve scalable microservices, integrations, RESTful APIs, and event-driven workflows.
- Design and implement agentic AI workflows using LLMs, retrieval patterns, structured outputs, tool/function calling, context management, memory, permissions, and workflow state.
- Integrate AI workflows with enterprise data sources, databases, business applications, APIs, queues, and operational systems.
- Apply grounding, validation, guardrails, prompt and version management, evaluation, monitoring, observability, feedback loops, and quality checks to production AI systems.
- Lead technical execution for features, services, teams, or workstreams while remaining hands-on in the codebase.
- Contribute to architecture decisions involving service boundaries, integration patterns, data ownership, distributed systems, and AI workflow design.
- Modernize legacy components using pragmatic migration patterns and drive solutions to implementation risks.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, design discussions, implementation planning, and adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
- Build and maintain SaaS applications, containerized applications, cloud deployments, CI/CD workflows, and production support processes.
- Partner with product, security, architecture, DevOps, SRE, and operations teams on reliable, secure, supportable delivery.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven experience leading delivery of complex features, services, or technical workstreams and mentoring engineers.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, operating, and supporting production software systems.
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core and modern .NET development.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, distributed systems, production service development, microservices, integrations, and event-driven workflows.
- Hands-on experience with LLM-enabled applications, AI workflow orchestration, agentic AI patterns, tool/function calling, context management, structured outputs, and workflow state.
- Experience integrating AI-enabled systems with databases, APIs, queues, and enterprise applications.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL, NoSQL data stores, caching, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms, and cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
- Proficiency with Git, pull requests, code reviews, branching strategies, automated testing, observability, secure coding, CI/CD, and production support practices.
- Frontend framework experience such as React or Angular is preferred.
- Experience with Python, Java, TypeScript, message queues, event streaming, workflow orchestration platforms, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, semantic search, AI evaluation harnesses, prompt/version management, safety checks, or governance workflows is preferred.
- Experience with high-throughput, real-time, or operationally critical SaaS systems and Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
