Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, maintain, and operate scalable backend services and APIs.
- Design backend solutions for performance, reliability, observability, and high availability in distributed cloud and containerized systems.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, data, and machine learning teams on technical designs and end-to-end integrations.
- Apply automated testing, code review, instrumentation, operational runbooks, and other engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive systemic resilience improvements.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend or server-side development for scalable, high-availability systems.
- Experience building and operating RESTful or gRPC services and APIs in modern programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and operating services at scale.
- Experience with relational and non-relational data stores and messaging or streaming technologies.
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams to deliver production software, including planning, estimation, and release practices.
