Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for microcontrollers and Linux-based products.
- Implement and troubleshoot firmware, device interfaces, and communication protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable product features.
- Support software verification, debugging, continuous product improvement, and maintenance of test infrastructure.
- Complete project deliverables while aligning with assigned project leads on time, cost, and quality.
- Apply R&D processes and tools to assigned development work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of embedded software development experience through industry, internships, or academic projects.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
- Understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real-time software concepts.
- Preferred experience with Python scripting and ARM Cortex-M/Cortex-A platforms, including STM32, NXP, Renesas, or similar platforms.
- Preferred exposure to FreeRTOS, Yocto, Buildroot, or cross-compilation toolchains.
- Preferred experience with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, or TCP/IP communication protocols.
- Preferred familiarity with JTAG, GDB, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and Git.
- Candidates must already have US work authorization permitting permanent employment with ABB.
