Base Salary

$198k - $258k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define the multiyear architecture strategy for product software systems spanning cloud, applications, data, integration, and ML/AI infrastructure.
  • Establish architectural principles, reference architectures, shared services, and guardrails for reliability, performance, interoperability, maintainability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead cross-functional architecture forums and governance processes and review high-impact technical proposals and platform changes.
  • Guide systems decomposition, API strategies, data models, cloud architectures, and end-to-end workflows across on-device and off-device systems.
  • Partner with product, security, privacy, regulatory, quality, clinical, data science, and infrastructure teams to align technical strategies with business and compliance needs.
  • Provide architectural oversight from concept through release, standardize technical patterns, mentor engineering leads and architects, and resolve complex systemic issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering or architecture is required.
  • Deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems, cloud architectures, and modern application platforms is required.
  • Experience architecting regulated or high-reliability systems, preferably in medical, health technology, or similar domains, is required.
  • Mastery of architectural domains including event-driven systems, data pipelines, observability, DevOps/SRE practices, and cloud-native technologies is required.
  • Ability to influence executive teams as a senior individual contributor without direct authority and communicate complex technical concepts clearly is required.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with cross-functional leaders across product, security, quality, regulatory, data science, and infrastructure is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with FDA, EU MDR, IEC 62304, HIPAA, AI/ML platform architecture, model deployment, clinical decision-support software, medical devices, clinical systems, EHRs, FHIR, and HL7.
  • Prior leadership in organizations scaling complex multi-product software ecosystems is preferred.
