Base Salary

$137k - $252k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build, automate, operate, and scale VenturaOS compute, networking, database, storage, identity, and cloud infrastructure services.
  • Partner with application teams to design and scale supporting services and infrastructure.
  • Own authentication, authorization, auditing, security, and compliance for VenturaOS cloud services.
  • Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, availability, efficiency, and cloud spend.
  • Deliver GitLab, Jenkins, Gerrit, build infrastructure, developer tooling, AOSP and mobile build systems, lab infrastructure, release pipelines, and app deployment infrastructure.
  • Lead GPU infrastructure and model-serving platforms supporting applied science and AI-assisted tools.
  • Own end-to-end telemetry infrastructure from client ingestion through processing, data warehousing, and analytics reporting.
  • Drive infrastructure migrations and adoption of new platform tools and standards.
  • Maintain operational excellence through observability, SLOs, on-call, incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity planning, documentation, and runbooks.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of software engineering experience, including meaningful experience with cloud platforms or distributed systems.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Commercial development experience with a modern backend language such as Node.js/TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, Go, or C#.
  • Extensive production experience designing and operating cloud services or infrastructure at meaningful scale.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with observability instrumentation, including metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, SLOs, and on-call operations.
  • Understanding of relational and NoSQL data stores, including tenant-scoped data modeling.
  • Experience owning shared platforms used by other engineering teams and driving standards adoption.
  • Experience mentoring engineers through code and design reviews, making technical decisions, and communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred qualifications include Kubernetes and cloud experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure; identity and security systems experience; GPU infrastructure or ML-serving experience; and Smart TV, OTT, CTV, hardware-fleet, or consumer-OS infrastructure experience.
