Base Salary
$115k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development and begin architecting scalable distributed-system components for large-scale GPU infrastructure.
- Optimize systems for high-throughput data processing, elasticity, scalability, and large-scale data retrieval and storage.
- Design fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
- Define reliability, availability, durability, performance, telemetry, KPI, dashboard, and alerting requirements.
- Implement correctness testing, fault injection, brown-out scenarios, data replication, and synchronization mechanisms.
- Diagnose, debug, and resolve production issues; participate in incident response, root-cause investigations, and operational support rotations.
- Implement security controls, encryption, access controls, remediation plans, and cloud infrastructure compliance measures.
- Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code tools for patching, updating, rollback, and change management.
- Coordinate moderately complex projects, delegate and prioritize work, provide technical oversight, and mentor junior team members.
- Participate in candidate interviews and provide hiring recommendations.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 6 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale production systems with 1,000 or more server instances.
- Proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, C, C++, Go, or shell scripting.
- Deep understanding of operating systems, computer networks, high-performance applications, distributed systems, and algorithms.
- Experience with software debugging, low-level systems troubleshooting, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Preferred experience with Linux systems, system architecture, data synchronization, fault tolerance, state management, and enterprise storage, networking, or computing.
- Preferred experience with server or GPU hardware architecture, system management, InfiniBand or RoCE networking, and public-cloud service data planes.
- Preferred understanding of databases and SQL, including MySQL, and caching technologies such as Redis and Memcached.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, ownership, collaboration, mentoring, and adaptability skills.
