Responsibilities
- Set up test environments involving client and web applications, services, and databases.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated UI, API, integration, smoke, and regression tests.
- Build and enhance scalable, reusable, and maintainable test automation frameworks.
- Review user stories and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios, risks, edge cases, and quality gaps.
- Integrate automated tests and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform functional, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing.
- Test APIs, microservices, web applications, databases, and distributed system integrations.
- Collaborate with developers to improve testability, automation coverage, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot automation, application, environment, and test-data-related failures.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, release planning, and continuous improvement activities.
- Use AI-assisted tools for test-case generation, automation development, code reviews, debugging, test-data generation, and failure analysis with appropriate validation.
- Mentor junior Test Automation Engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in software testing, test automation, or software development.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, SpecFlow, Cucumber, or similar automation frameworks.
- Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, Rest Assured, Playwright, or equivalent technologies.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience building mocks, emulators, fakes, stubs, and test case libraries.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD technologies such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Understanding of Shift Left Testing, Test Pyramid, risk-based testing, and continuous testing.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is an advantage.
- Experience with or willingness to adopt AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to contribute independently and collaborate effectively within distributed engineering teams.
- Experience in Convenience Retail, Fuel, Payments, Wholesale, Loyalty, or Logistics domains is preferred.
