Responsibilities
- Own the cloud-to-edge contract and ensure on-premises nodes mirror cloud architecture at smaller scale
- Implement identity federation, cached-credential authentication, and RBAC propagation for disconnected edge nodes
- Own data refresh, migration, entity persistence, bilateral consistency, and republishing-cache behavior
- Automate propagation of cloud architecture changes to edge NixOS closures to prevent configuration drift
- Define and test failover and reconnect behavior for High-Availability/DDIL operating conditions
- Set technical direction for the sub-team and mentor individual contributors
Requirements
- Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance that can be maintained
- Strong software background and proficiency in Go, Rust, or Python
- Knowledge of distributed-systems fundamentals including consensus, conflict resolution, and eventual consistency
- Cloud architecture depth, preferably with GCP, including VPC, identity-provider, and networking concepts
- Experience with on-premises and bare-metal deployments
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Preferred: demonstrated ownership of a reliability/SRE or platform-engineering charter
