Responsibilities
- Develop pre-silicon firmware and software with direct hardware interfaces.
- Develop and integrate C tests, APIs, and embedded software build flows.
- Perform design reviews, code reviews, testing, debugging, and product validation.
- Develop Embedded Linux platforms and BSPs using U-Boot, the Linux kernel, Device Tree, and Yocto.
- Perform ARM, PowerPC, and x86 SoC/platform bring-up and optimize memory usage.
- Profile systems and debug low-level firmware and kernel code using software and hardware debugging tools.
- Work with build systems, CI pipelines, embedded communication protocols, and hardware validation equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, document designs and code changes, and contribute to technical solutions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Embedded C++.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Proficiency in C and strong Embedded Linux/BSP development experience.
- Hands-on experience with U-Boot, Linux kernel, Device Tree, and Yocto.
- Strong knowledge of Linux internals including boot flow, IPC, memory management/MMU, interrupts, and SMP.
- Experience with ARM, PowerPC, or x86 controllers and SoC/platform bring-up.
- Experience with perf, strace, ltrace, Valgrind, GDB, and at least one of OpenOCD/JTAG or Lauterbach.
- Working knowledge of CMake and Makefiles, with exposure to Jenkins or GitLab CI for embedded builds.
- Working knowledge of PCIe, I2C, RS232, SPI, and UART.
- Exposure to oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, Trace32, hardware debuggers, and FPGA fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently, contribute as a subject matter expert, participate in team discussions, and collaborate across functions.
