Base Salary
$260k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build core agent infrastructure for long-horizon task execution, including tool use, context management, multi-step planning, subagent orchestration, and sandboxed code execution environments.
- Improve Windsurf through editor intelligence, agent-in-the-loop workflows, real-time code understanding, and developer-experience improvements.
- Work with researchers to translate new model capabilities into shipped product features and provide feedback that influences training priorities.
- Build systems that support millions of agentic tasks with low latency, high reliability, and production-grade correctness.
- Help define the future direction of AI software engineering products.
Requirements
- Experience building reliable and performant distributed systems with strong attention to correctness, failure modes, and production behavior.
- Evidence of shipping software that real users depend on, with strong product instinct and user-oriented judgment.
- Ability to make progress through ambiguous, difficult problems and adapt based on results.
- Track record of moving quickly while maintaining high code quality.
- Curiosity about LLMs, AI agents, agent failure modes, and reliable AI-powered systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience owning large Python codebases in production.
- Prior experience at a frontier AI lab, applied AI company, or developer-tools company.
- BS, MS, or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline from a highly selective program.
