Base Salary
$167k - $242k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate backend systems supporting login, account management, authentication, and authorization.
- Own software engineering projects from problem definition and technical design through production delivery and ongoing improvement.
- Balance security requirements with customer experience while protecting customer data and reducing unnecessary friction.
- Partner with Product, Information Security, Application Security, and engineering teams to deliver secure capabilities and influence product direction.
- Improve the reliability, maintainability, and security of interconnected systems and establish effective engineering practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code while validating the resulting work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, plus four years of software engineering experience.
- Experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining production backend software or services.
- Experience owning software engineering projects through multiple stages of the development lifecycle.
- Experience designing or integrating APIs, services, or components within distributed or interconnected production systems.
- Experience with code review, automated testing, debugging, and production support.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or SAML; experience in medium-to-large engineering organizations; frontend development experience; and experience using AI-assisted development tools.
