Responsibilities
- Conduct validation testing on webcam and video products for quality standards and functionality requirements.
- Create, implement, and document validation plans covering technical specifications.
- Operate lab equipment and test benches to assess product performance.
- Identify, document, track, and help resolve software and firmware defects.
- Communicate project timeline and product quality issues to peers and stakeholders.
- Contribute to quality and testing process improvements.
- Benchmark competitor products, including features, performance, and image quality.
- Perform subjective and objective image quality testing using standardized methods and user feedback.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on test execution experience with webcams, video products, or similar consumer electronics.
- Track record of contributing to quality assurance in dedicated QA or quality departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, and iPadOS environments.
- Knowledge of electronics and embedded firmware/software used in video capture devices.
- Strong knowledge of USB protocols.
- Familiarity with Python programming for automation and test scripting.
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze defects autonomously and rigorously.
- Effective collaboration skills in multicultural, cross-functional teams and fluent English communication.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Preferred experience validating webcam or video-capture firmware and software, conducting image-quality assessments, designing automated tests, using webcam lab equipment, benchmarking competitors, and working with camera sensors, optics, video compression, or streaming protocols.
- ISTQB certification is a plus.
